Product Summary

Covonia Chesty Cough Sugar Free Syrup contains guaifenesin, an expectorant to help loosen phlegm. This cough syrup loosens stubborn mucus (phlegm) and provides relief from chesty coughs.

Directions

  • Adults, the elderly and children 12 years and over: Take 15ml.
  • Each dose should be taken as required, but do not repeat the dose more frequently than every 6 hours.
  • Not more than 3 doses should be taken in any 24 hours.
  • Do not exceed the stated dose.
  • Do not give to children under 12 years of age.
  • Do not take with any other cough and cold medicine.

Ingredients

  • Active Ingredients: Each 15ml dose of cough syrup contains Guaifenesin 200mg.
  • Also contains sweeteners sorbitol (E420) approximately 3.1g, sodium cyclamate, sodium saccharin, colour ponceau 4R (E124). Anise, blackcurrant and menthol flavours (E1518, propylene glycol (E1520).

Warnings and Restrictions

Please see your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if:

  • you have an intolerance to some sugars,
  • if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby.

Do not take this medicine:

  • if you are allergic to guaifenesin or any of the other ingredients
  • if you suffer from porphyria, which is a type of blood disorder that causes skin or nervous system problems.

Taking other medicines

This product is unlikely to interact with other medication. However, please speak to your pharmacist or doctor if you are using any other medication, especially if you suffer from any respiratory conditions.
